Registered Nurse PACU Opportunity

This Registered Nurse PACU opportunity is part time, offers full benefits and a convenient schedule. This individual will function in PACU environment and provides direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Assists with the maintenance of PHA and PACU equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the care of patients undergoing surgical, pain management, and endoscopic procedures. Responsible for monitoring patient's physiological status in the immediate postoperative environment. Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist immediately and as needed about patient condition; receives direction for patient management. Intercedes to maintain optimum homeostasis. Proficient in pain management, guidelines and medication dosing. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates supportive behaviors necessary for performing bedside report using IMAP & SBAR
  • Perform head to toe pre-procedure assessment on all patients and reassesses post procedure as needed
  • Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care as indicated and evaluates for effectiveness.
  • Adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
  • Educates the patient and family regarding pain management

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
  • Current Nevada nursing license.
  • Current BLS certificate.
  • Prefer one year full time or three years part time experience in acute care PACU setting.
  • Current ACLS required.
  • Handle with Care (or obtained within six months of employment) in required speciality.
  • Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
