Your typical workweek will be Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing ample time to immerse yourself in essential tasks. On a daily basis, you will assist in client intake assessments, participate in group therapy sessions, and observe clinical practices under the supervision of licensed professionals.

You may also engage in case documentation and participate in team meetings that focus on service improvement and program development. Expect to collaborate with a diverse team, attend training workshops, and engage in community outreach initiatives. This hands-on experience not only builds your competency but also enhances your understanding of the vital role social work plays within our faith-based organization.

Demonstrating initiative by providing at least one hour of in-service training on a clinical topic during your internship will contribute to your professional development. Additionally, effective collaboration with treatment staff and a commitment to a minimum of twelve months enhance the overall team dynamic.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • 1) Complete Advent Group Ministries' application.
  • 2) Commit to five to ten hours weekly
  • including at least one evening per week
  • two hours of supervision
  • one hour of staff meeting and one hour of training per week.
  • 3) Commit to a minimum of twelve months.
  • 4) Attend weekly group supervision meetings on Wednesdays.
  • 5) Commit to counsel individuals
