Aurora Packing Company is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for our second shift position (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM).
This position is responsible for the general maintenance of production equipment and plant facilities in compliance with safety regulations and company procedures. Must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose and perform moderate to complex repairs on machinery. Must have a thorough knowledge of functions and operations of all processes and associated support equipment.
What You Will Do:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs production equipment using mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulics.
  • Has a thorough understanding of equipment, functions, and operational procedures.
  • Performs general facility maintenance to improve or modify the facility.
  • Performs changes and modifications to equipment and the facility.
  • Assist in the installation, assembly, and set-up of production machinery.
  • Repairs facility equipment such as electrical/electronic, or material handling equipment.
  • Initiates preventative maintenance and establishes repair schedules.
  • Complete knowledge of all manufacturing support equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to weld is a definite plus, or willingness to learn a new skill.
  • Self-motivation and willingness to learn new skills is a must.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to cold and warm temperatures, fumes or airborne particles, sharp knives, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

What You Will Bring:
Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of manufacturing maintenance relevant experience and the following credentials/skills:
  • High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience
  • Steady work history
  • Must be mechanically inclined with a strong behavior-based safety attitude.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime, including weekends, when scheduled.
  • Must be punctual and reliable.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
