Job description

Saronic Technologies is a leader in revolutionizing autonomy at sea, dedicated to developing state-of-the-art solutions that enhance maritime operations through autonomous and intelligent platforms.
Job Summary:
Saronic is seeking a Training Technician to support the effective delivery, operation, and technical readiness of training programs for Saronic's hardware, software, autonomous systems, and fleet operations. This role ensures that training equipment and environments are configured correctly, training materials are operationally accurate, and instructors and participants have reliable technical support during training events.
The Training Technician works closely with training leadership, instructional designers, mission operations trainers, and cross-functional engineering and operations teams. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role that enables high-quality delivery of live, hybrid, and customer-facing training without owning training content strategy. It bridges technical readiness with training execution.
Responsibilities:
  • Training Systems, Labs, & Equipment Readiness
  • Set up, configure, and maintain training hardware, software, and diagnostic tools prior to training events.
  • Ensure training systems and simulators reflect current configurations compliant with production standards and product releases.
  • Test and validate functionality of equipment used in live and practical training environments.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues quickly to minimize disruptions during training sessions.

Training Delivery Support
  • Provide on-site technical support for instructors and trainees during classroom, workshop, and hands-on training events.
  • Operate and support AV technology, connectivity, virtual-classroom tools, and LMS tools during live and hybrid sessions.
  • Assist with practical setups for simulations, demonstrations, and equipment exercises.
  • Serve as first-line technical contact for training participants experiencing technical issues.

Training Material Alignment & Version Control
  • Ensure training materials, software builds, and hardware configurations align with live systems and current product baselines; communicate discrepancies to instructional teams.
  • Assist in updating reference documentation when technical changes to equipment or software occur.
  • Support Training Improvement Specialists in maintaining up-to-date training references, SOPs, and asset inventories.

Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Software, Mission Operations, and Product Delivery teams to understand product updates and technical nuances affecting training.
  • Support knowledge transfer from development teams to training teams prior to new product rollouts.
  • Communicate configuration issues and support resolution paths to relevant stakeholders.

Training Event Logistics & Reporting
  • Assist with training event setup and teardown logistics (classrooms, labs, training vessels, vehicles).
  • Maintain training equipment inventory and track usage, repairs, and calibration schedules.
  • Provide post-event reporting on technical issues, equipment performance, and improvement recommendations.

Required Qualifications:
  • Technical associate or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering Technology, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting advanced technical systems in a hands-on environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with hardware, software, and networked systems.
  • Ability to read technical documentation, installation guides, diagrams, and product manuals.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfortable in dynamic training environments with rapid setup and change.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in support of live training environments, mission operations, simulation labs, or field training.
  • Familiarity with autonomous systems, maritime systems, or complex hardware configurations.
  • Prior experience with LMS tools, AV support equipment, and training delivery support.
  • Experience with DoD, defense contractor, or regulated industry environments.

Competencies:
  • Technical Readiness - Strong ability to prepare and maintain technical training environments.
  • Troubleshooting & Support - Rapid diagnosis and issue resolution during training delivery.
  • Collaboration - Works well with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
  • Adaptability - Comfort with shifting priorities and dynamic training schedules.

Role Context at Saronic
  • Training at Saronic includes roles such as Training Improvement Specialist focused on instructional quality and delivery, and Training Coordinator focused on administrative planning and scheduling. The Training Technician complements these by ensuring technical delivery readiness and operational support for training offerings - including hardware setups, simulator environments, and real-world equipment alignment - without owning curriculum strategy.

Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
  • Lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions including shipyards, fabrication spaces, and onboard vessels.

Benefits:
Medical Insurance: Comprehensive health insurance plans covering a range of services
Saronic pays 100% of the premium for employees and 80% for dependents
Dental and Vision Insurance: Coverage for routine dental check-ups, orthodontics, and vision care

Competitive Salary: Industry-standard salaries with opportunities for performance-based bonuses
Retirement Plan: 401(k) plan with company match
Stock Options: Equity options to give employees a stake in the company's success
