The HVAC Technician Lead is responsible for serving as the field lead and primary point of contact of coordination for a team of HVAC Technicians, while performing hands-on installation, maintenance and repair work. This role provides day-to-day direction, technician guidance and job-site coordination to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to company standards.


This position does not have direct report supervisory authority, but functions as the crew leader, supporting the HVAC Supervisor by organizing workflow, assisting with project execution and helping drive accountability and performance in the field. Responsibilities also include supporting the HVAC Supervisor in gathering date and information for the purpose of developing budgets for HVAC capital projects.

Requirements:


Essential Functions:

This position is responsible for:

  • Lead and coordinate daily activities of HVAC Technicians in the field
  • Provide hands-on support for installation, start-up, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems
  • Serve as the primary on-site resource for technical guidance and problem resolution
  • Assist in planning and organizing work assignments to ensure efficiency and timely completion
  • Install HVAC equipment in commercial, industrial, and retail properties
  • Troubleshoot equipment installation, start-up, and operational issues
  • Install flex and sheet metal duct systems
  • Ensure thermostats and control systems are functioning properly
  • Load required materials and equipment for each job
  • Ensure adherence to all company safety policies and procedures
  • Assist with project coordination and execution for HVAC capital projects
  • Provide cost analysis and ROI input for HVAC capital improvements
  • Maintain company vehicle in proper working condition
  • Participate in required meetings and training
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

· Strong leadership presence with the ability to guide and support a team in the field

· Ability to measure, fabricate, and install ductwork and associated equipment

· Proficient in testing, brazing line sets, evacuating, and charging systems

· Ability to complete low and high voltage connections on HVAC equipment

· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

· Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate multiple job assignments


Required:

· 4-5 years of HVAC experience

· Valid EPA certification (required)

· Ability to lift 50 lbs.

· Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Valid driver license and insurable driving record
