Summary: Works with management and principal trainer(s) to deliver and maintain the training program for the roles in the application(s) assigned. Trainers, (Credentialed Trainers), must have a solid understanding of operations relevant to their application(s) that may include clinical documentation, orders, scheduling, patient-clinic communications, result routing, charge entry, coding, claims to process, and patient billing. In addition to leading classes, trainers are responsible for providing support and informal training to end-users, including elbow-to-elbow support. Trainers may also be assigned application support roles working with applications analysts. Position is On-site.

Education and Experience:

  • AA degree in computer science or related field (preferred), Minimum two years of experience in healthcare operations using Epic and understanding operational workflows.
  • Must possess strong computer and organizational knowledge and be detailed to understand workflows and system configurations.
  • Experience with adult education and/or experience training or working in roles responsible for training.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

  • Current Epic certification(s) for relevant applications.
  • New hires have no more than 60 days from date of hire for completion of Epic training to meet required Epic certifications.

Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives. Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable. Note: (other duties may be assigned, deleted or changed at any time, at the discretion of management, formally, or informally, either verbally or in writing).
1.Facilitates and leads courses as assigned, including setup before each class, active facilitation of each class, and appropriate follow-up after each class.
2.Design, develop, and maintain instructional materials.
3.Maintains policy and procedure documentation.
4.Share feedback from others and help to incorporate feedback into existing training and training administration procedures.
5.Maintains proficiency with current and new/upcoming Epic features.
6.Assists with building and testing of training environments and providing support and troubleshooting issues.
7.Presents information verbally and in writing in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.
8.Follows up with trainees outside of the classroom to offer additional support.
9.Serves as an expert educator to internal staff.
10.Performs other duties as assigned
