Job description

Electrical Engineer II

Location: Lynchburg, VA, US

Work Arrangement: Onsite

General Function

Responsible for the electrical design, issue and implementation of electrical control systems of all products under the Standard Product umbrella. Performs diversified electrical machine design and controls on new or improvements/adaptations to existing machines with limited supervision.

Primary Responsibilities
  • It is every BPM, Inc. Employee’s responsibility to be aware of and work with Belvac’s current documented Quality Management System as it pertains to their job requirements.
  • Design, issue and implementation of electrical control systems for all Standard Product Machinery in accordance with NEC and Machinery Code.
  • Creation of Bills of Materials.
  • Generate electrical schematics.
  • Automation programming including PLC, HMI, VFDs and servos.
  • Evaluate customer specifications and comply with machinery output.
  • Peer review new designs and adaptations of existing designs. Attend cross‑functional design reviews and lead when required.
  • Assist in the continuous process improvement of Belvac’s standard product line.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education

BSEE or equivalent 4‑year experience in related field.

Experience

Four years of experience in engineering field, preferably in machine manufacturing and controls of high‑speed machinery. Proficiency in Rockwell Automation PLC and HMI programming is required. Siemens TIA Portal programming is a definite plus. Specific experience in rotary machinery or high‑speed packaging machinery is beneficial. Must be proficient in AutoCAD R13 (or later), and ISO 9001. Must have good technical written and verbal communication skills. Must be capable of using typical Microsoft Office software. Knowledge of CE (European Safety Standards) is a plus.
