The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an advanced trainee to receive formal and on-the-job training in the Security Administration Career Field and to complete developmental assignments and training outlined in the formal training and development plan. The recognized full performance ("target") grade for this position is GS-0080-11.Qualifications:Air Force Qualification Standards
To qualify for a GS-
07: Completion of 1 full year of graduate level education, or bachelor's degree with Superior academic Achievement as provided in the "General Policies and Instructions" for Qualifications Standards Operating Manual, or 5 academic years of pre-professional study, or 1 year specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-5.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
  1. Knowledge of Department of War (DoW) and Air Force directives relative to security administration.
  2. Knowledge of the policies, procedures, and methods of the Information, Personnel and Industrial security programs.
  3. Knowledge and understanding of programs concerned with classifying and declassifying defense information.
  4. Ability to recognize employee security awareness needs and implement program to acquaint them with their security responsibilities.
  5. Ability to conduct periodic security surveys and inspections of contractor facilities to ensure compliance with security requirements and to advise management of deficiencies and corrective actions needed to meet security requirements.
  6. Ability to deal effectively with personnel in presenting the policies, procedures, and methods connected with the Air Force security mission.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Education:IF USING EDUCATION TO QUALIFY: If position has a positive degree requirement or education forms the basis for qualifications, you MUST submit transcriptswith the application. Official transcripts are not required at the time of application; however, if position has a positive degree requirement, qualifying based on education alone or in combination with experience, transcripts must be verified prior to appointment.
