Job description

Position Overview

A-B Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Security Engineer to support enterprise network security operations, firewall management, threat monitoring, and Zero Trust initiatives. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining secure network infrastructures across complex enterprise environments.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Next-Generation Firewall technologies, Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, cybersecurity operations, and enterprise network segmentation. This individual will work closely with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operations teams to strengthen the organization’s security posture while ensuring network reliability, scalability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewall policies and configurations
  • Administer and support Panorama centralized firewall management
  • Design, implement, and maintain Layer 2 and Layer 3 network infrastructures
  • Configure and manage network segmentation across business units using subnets and VLANs/LANs
  • Implement and maintain Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) policies and security frameworks
  • Manage External Dynamic Lists (EDLs) and threat intelligence integrations
  • Monitor Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) and participate in proactive threat hunting activities
  • Support and manage multiple brands of switches, routers, and edge devices
  • Investigate and resolve firewall-related performance, connectivity, and security issues
  • Ensure firewall and network security policies align with organizational security standards and compliance requirements
  • Participate in cyber incident response and remediation activities
  • Plan and execute firmware upgrades, patch management, and software updates for security appliances and networking devices
  • Monitor enterprise IT ticketing systems and ensure accurate technical documentation and ticket updates
  • Analyze vulnerabilities and assist with remediation of network security issues
  • Create and maintain IPSec VPN tunnels and secure remote connectivity solutions
  • Support data analysis, application rationalization, and infrastructure migration initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors during system integrations and migrations
Required Qualifications
  • Extensive experience with Palo Alto Firewall Policy Management
  • Strong understanding of Next-Generation Firewall technologies and security best practices
  • Hands-on experience implementing Zero Trust Network Access policies
  • Expertise in Layer 2 Networking and Layer 3 Routing
  • Experience with threat intelligence management and threat hunting methodologies
  • Knowledge of Indicators of Compromise (IOC) monitoring and cyber incident response procedures
  • Experience managing multiple network device manufacturers and enterprise edge devices
  • Strong troubleshooting and network monitoring skills
  • Experience with Panorama management
  • Ability to manage and document work effectively within IT ticketing systems
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus IOS environments
  • Experience supporting multi-vendor enterprise network infrastructures
  • Knowledge of vulnerability detection and remediation processes
  • Experience with application migration and rationalization projects
  • Familiarity with third-party software integrations and migration support
  • Experience creating and maintaining IPSec tunnels
  • Industry certifications such as:

Education & Experience
