Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Columbia, MD, supporting the design and development of mechanical systems for electronic products. This role is well-suited for an early-career engineer who enjoys hands‑on work, technical problem-solving, and collaborating with cross‑functional engineering teams.

The Mechanical Engineer will support Integrated Product Teams in the design, analysis, manufacture, and testing of digital, RF/analog, and mixed‑signal electronics hardware across multiple levels of integration, including chip, PCB, module, chassis, and system‑level designs. This position offers strong mentorship, technical growth, and exposure to real‑world product development in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design mechanical parts, enclosures, and assemblies for electronic systems using SolidWorks
  • Create and update 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Support thermal and structural evaluations through simulation, analysis, or testing
  • Collaborate closely with electrical engineers to ensure proper PCB integration, fit, and mechanical clearances
  • Assist with prototype builds, lab testing, and design verification activities
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to product improvement discussions
  • Apply best practices in electronics packaging, manufacturability, and material selection
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • 1–5 years of relevant experience (internships, co‑ops, or academic projects accepted)
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
  • Basic understanding of thermal principles and heat dissipation in electronic systems
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team‑based engineering environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to thermal or FEA tools (e.g., Ansys, FloTHERM, COMSOL)
  • Experience with injection‑molded part design
  • Hands‑on experience with prototyping, 3D printing, or lab testing
  • Familiarity with fabrication processes such as sheet metal, machining, or injection molding
  • Understanding of electronics packaging or PCB mechanical integration
Benefits Overview

Our company offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, including:

  • Paid Time Off: 15–25 days annually based on tenure, plus 11 paid holidays (never use‑or‑lose)
  • Retirement: Up to 15% employer contribution to a 401(k) through match and profit sharing
  • Medical Coverage: Free medical insurance for employees, with optional buy‑up plans for dependents

  • Additional Benefits: Employee Assistance Program, wellness incentives, discount programs, virtual care, prescription savings, and travel support
  • Performance‑Based Rewards: Merit increases, performance bonuses, and referral bonuses
