Position Summary
Primary responsibilities are:
Education and assistance of members in ceramic creation.
Maintenance and ordering of supplies and equipment.
Perform general duties in maintaining the studio.
Registering members,
Cleaning work areas,
Performing general chores, teaching workshops, and
completing tasks assigned by the Director and Assistant Director.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 hours as an undergraduate student with a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Must be familiar with workshop safety procedures.
  • Must be comfortable speaking with others to answer questions, provide instructions, and explain concepts.
  • Must have experience with jewelry construction and design.
  • Should be comfortable with basic jewelry fabrication techniques and tools, including soldering with a torch, correctly mixing and using bench chemicals and polishing compounds, shaping metal with a flex-shaft (Dremel) and with hand tools, and polishing both by hand and using a buffer.
  • Experience with stonework, including use of a lapidary combination unit and setting stones, is preferable.
  • Experience with ceramic work is a major plus.
