Low Voltage and Security Estimator (Framingham, MA)

Full Time | No Travel | $75,000 - $100,000 per year

Position Summary

Superior Communication Services is currently seeking an experienced Low Voltage and Security Estimator. The ideal candidate should be a detail-oriented, self-starter with experience preparing estimates for security and commercial voice and data solutions. Experience estimating audio/video (AV) and access control systems is a plus.

Objectives

  • Create accurate and competitive estimates and quotations for low voltage and security projects
  • Complete site walkthroughs and participate in pre-bid meetings to determine and document bid requirements and job site conditions
  • Prepare designs that meet project requirements and industry standards
  • Develop bill of material, obtain pricing, and calculate labor to produce material and labor estimates
  • Detail scope of work based on designs and proposal specifications and coordinate with business development team to prepare comprehensive proposal materials
  • Provide sales and technical staff with support on both a pre- and post-sales basis including attending project meetings and job sites as needed

Competencies

Strong technical skills and knowledge of voice, data, and video structured cabling systems.

  • Ability to read blueprints and specifications to produce accurate estimates.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturers and products including Commscope, Panduit, Belden, Corning, and Legrand.
  • Experience reading and understanding blueprints and system schematic diagrams.
  • Strong understanding of job material and labor forecasting
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Bluebeam is preferred
  • BICSI and RCDD certification is a plus

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 Years of experience estimating commercial voice and data, fiber optic, audio visual, and access control systems.
  • Cabling: 5 years (Required)
  • Construction estimating: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Willingness to travel (50% Preferred)
