Job description

Position Summary:

Reads work instructions, work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. Assembles various parts of manufactured products using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment. Inspects all materials, components, subassemblies, etc. to assure they meet the accepted quality standards. All job responsibilities are to be executed in harmony with our Quality Procedures, Code of Business Ethics and Conduct policy and our Core Values which sets the standard by which we operate and how we treat others.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Mechanical skills are necessary.
  • Water meter assembly experience a plus
  • Experience working with hand tools and power tools
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arm’s length stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Computer literacy in Excel, Word
  • Ability to read & understand procedures, Layouts, Drawings

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the assembly of finished metering products, components, or sub-assemblies.
  • Assembles various parts of manufactured products using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment. Stamps & Engraves Meter Bodies & Lids
  • Inspects and tests all finished products, components, subassemblies, etc. to assure they meet the accepted quality standards.
  • Assist in packing material and preparing for products to be shipped
  • Verifies All labels for shipping to ensure all boxes are marked properly
  • Follows all quality procedures, safety policies, Code of Business Ethics and Conduct policy while performing their jobs
  • Assists in repairs assembly errors noted by quality control personnel
  • Assists in installation, repair, inspection, reassembly, replacing, refitting, and adjusting products as required.
  • Maintain work area clean, safe and orderly.
  • Should be able to recognize all meter by sight and all parts by Drawings and part numbers.
