Job description

SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Director provides comprehensive clinical services as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This includes the evaluation and treatment of patients presenting with a wide range of psychiatric and physical/environmental stressors using a full range of psychiatric therapeutic interventions, including evaluations, and individual, family, and group psychotherapy. This individual also reports to the Director regarding professional standards, regulatory and licensing requirements, credentials/privileges, and continuing education.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and mental health evaluations. Participate in treatment planning to set therapeutic goals in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Participate in the execution of the treatment plan goals as they pertain to the therapeutic aspects of the patient/family care. Complete all required documentation in a professional and timely manner, as assigned. Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families/guardians, regarding diagnosis, treatment interventions and recommendations as relevant.

Clinical case management as required to coordinate and collaborate in care with both the multidisciplinary team and community supports. Participates in service-related meetings including but not limited to team meetings, clinical conferences, staff meetings and in-service. May participate in research or other specialized activities as arranged with supervisor.

Attends staff meetings and meets all related responsibilities. Demonstrates conduct which exemplifies the professional Code of Ethics. Attend supervision as required.

May provide supervision of social work/counseling students, as assigned. This entails: Providing reliable, high-quality supervision of trainees, as assigned and appropriate. Participating in teaching of trainees, as assigned and appropriate.

Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Masters' degree in any human services field required, such as social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology from an accredited graduate school. Current independent license from State of Rhode Island required (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT) Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.

Significant experience and/or training work with children, adolescents, and families.
