Architectural Co-op (College Students Only, Please)


Ferguson Construction is a premier Design-Build commercial general contractor with a strong history of co-op hires, and those hires becoming permanent parts of their 10-member design department. This unique co-op position provides the student with in-depth construction knowledge, as Ferguson Construction builds what we design with our construction team of over 225 men and women. This position works directly with our Managing Architect, and design staff to design, draft, detail and assemble preliminary and construction documents in both AutoCAD and Revit. At times the position will use Revit, and Enscape to create 3D models, renderings, and perhaps animations to help visualize projects for our clients. This position will have the opportunity to take preliminary designs of a variety of building types, provide design and detailing input, and create documents for construction. This challenging position will require problem solving skills and will teach the student all facets of construction to properly design each unique project. The depth of tasks assigned will be dependent on the student's proficiency. Previous strong co-ops have been given full, independent, design of additions and new buildings of many project types with direction and supervision.


This position will work design and create a variety of building types by working directly with:

  • architectural designers
  • civil designers
  • business development
  • estimating
  • site superintendents and construction crew leaders
  • subcontractors/suppliers
  • clients

The position will work heavily in AutoCAD Architecture, and Revit, and Enscape. An understanding of construction, and experience in Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. This opportunity is in our Sidney Ohio office, where all of our design staff is located.

Open to candidates pursuing a Bachelor's in Architecture and or Masters in Architecture degree. Candidates must be able to commute to Sidney, OH office.
