Warehouse Lead – New Castle, DE
Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $23 per hour
Location: Sutton, MA
Position Summary
The Warehouse Lead will support daily warehouse operations, including receiving, handling, organizing, storing, and distributing telecommunications cable. This role acts as a handson leader and serves as the backup to the Warehouse Supervisor. The Warehouse Lead will help train warehouse staff, assist with scheduling, maintain inventory accuracy, and coordinate with vendor partners. This position is onsite at our Sutton, MA warehouse and reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as backup to the site leader and act as a handson coach to warehouse staff
  • Assist in supervising and training warehouse personnel
  • Help oversee scheduling for all logistics processes from receiving through delivery
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendor partners and customers
  • Assist in tracking and documenting service provider performance
  • Confirm receipt of incoming cable shipments and organize materials within the warehouse
  • Help manage inventory accuracy and maintain all related documentation
  • Provide updates to the Warehouse Supervisor regarding operational performance and issues
  • Ensure all service commitments (quantity, quality, timing) are consistently met
  • Reinforce strict security protocols to protect cable at all stages of custody
  • Assist in scheduling and consolidating outbound deliveries to minimize transportation costs
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment by reinforcing safety practices
  • Ensure proper safeguarding of equipment and materials to prevent injury or damage
  • Comply with all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and labor laws
  • Assist in developing and enforcing job protocols
  • Support the management of operational KPIs and performance tracking
  • Analyze KPI data to identify efficiency opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in warehouse management, supply chain, logistics, transportation, or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory or lead experience
  • Strong project management and multitasking abilities
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and collaborate across teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Desire to learn, grow, and develop toward future leadership roles
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and pull up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to complete a physical fitness test
  • Forklift operation experience and ability to pass an internal forklift driving test
  • Required PPE: slipresistant safety shoes, disposable coverall, mask, gloves, safety vest
