Job description

North Central Utility (NCU) is looking for a self-motivated and results-driven Service/Trailer Technician to represent NCU in the semi-trailer service industry.


North Central Utility is one of the largest semi-trailer dealerships in the nation and the largest in the North Central region with 10 locations throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota. We offer reefer, dry van and flatbed trailers from Utility Trailer Manufacturing at all locations and vocational trailers from MAC Trailers in Wisconsin. Our service department offers everything from routine maintenance, certified DOT inspections to precision laser alignment, as well as complete wreck repair for trailers of all makes and models. No job is too big or too small for our skilled service technicians.


This position is a safety-sensitive position, requiring pre-employment and post-accident drug testing.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

โ€ข Inspect, troubleshoot and perform a variety of repairs on semi-trailers

โ€ข Steel, stainless steel and aluminum welding

โ€ข Air and electrical system diagnostics and repair

โ€ข Preventative maintenance

โ€ข Certified to conduct DOT inspections (or willing to become certified)

โ€ข Trailer body repairs

โ€ข Follow company repair and safety best practices

โ€ข Maintain and promote a safe work environment

โ€ข Use and promote PPE and the use of safety equipment

โ€ข Assist other technicians as needed


Qualifications:

โ€ข High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred

โ€ข Basic set of tools and previous experience preferred

โ€ข Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.

โ€ข Driver's License (Required)
