Position Overview

Freedom Trail Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and licensed mental health counselor to join our dynamic team in a fully remote telehealth capacity. This full-time position allows for flexible scheduling while providing quality care to clients in need. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to helping individuals navigate their mental health challenges, including but not limited to substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, offering you the flexibility to work from home while engaging with clients through our secure telehealth platform. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments by meeting with clients regularly, understanding their mental health status, and addressing any pressing concerns.
  • Design and implement customized treatment plans that align with evidence-based practices to ensure effective therapeutic interventions.
  • Utilize various therapeutic modalities, providing both individual and group therapy sessions that are culturally responsive and tailored to client preferences.
  • Assist clients in acquiring coping strategies and resources, empowering them to navigate their challenges effectively.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and community service providers, when additional support is necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within our electronic health record (EHR) system to ensure compliance with professional standards and enhance continuity of care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a member of our team, you will work with a diverse client population facing a wide array of mental health issues. This includes adults and adolescents struggling with substance use disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related issues, and eating disorders. Your role will be pivotal in not just addressing immediate concerns but also in fostering long-term mental well-being.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid license such as LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant clinical experience in a mental health setting, demonstrating a deep understanding of various mental health disorders.
  • Proficient in delivering therapeutic practices that are evidence-based and culturally competent.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with a wide range of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong crisis intervention skills, with an ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to effectively utilize EHR systems and other technology necessary for remote counseling.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in a telehealth setting is highly desirable, as is a background in integrative and holistic therapy approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct group therapy sessions, showcasing ease in leading discussions and fostering participation.
  • An understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals seeking mental health support, particularly those in underserved communities.
Compensation and Benefits

Freedom Trail Counseling Center offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
