To thrive as a Traffic Ticket Attorney, you need a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, a state bar license, and strong knowledge of traffic laws and court procedures. Familiarity with legal research databases (like Westlaw or LexisNexis), case management software, and electronic court filing systems is essential. Outstanding negotiation, analytical thinking, and client communication skills help set top performers apart. What is a traffic ticket attorney?

A traffic ticket attorney is a lawyer who specializes in representing clients who have been issued traffic citations, such as speeding tickets, red light violations, or driving without a license. They help clients contest tickets in court, negotiate for reduced penalties, or work to have charges dismissed. Traffic ticket attorneys are knowledgeable about traffic laws and courtroom procedures, and they can often find legal technicalities or procedural errors that might help a case. Hiring a traffic ticket attorney can save time, reduce fines, and potentially prevent points from being added to your driving record.
