Role description: Arcadis seeks a Traffic Signal/ITS Technician with a wide variety of experience to join the team in Louisiana & Mississippi. In this role you will assist our growing ITS / Traffic engineering group on various projects across the Gulf Region.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on field-based team player who follows health and safety best practices while working outdoors along transportation corridors across the Southeast U.S. This role requires travel, comfort working near live traffic and at heights over 10 feet, and a practical understanding of, or eagerness to learn, CCTV, communications network infrastructure, and basic electrical systems. Experience with Traffic Signal & ITS devices (CCTV, DMS, vehicle detection, etc.) is a plus; training is available for more junior technicians

Role accountabilities: Essential Job Functions include: Integration and maintenance of ITS and Network devices including CCTV systems, changeable message signs, travel time readers, and vehicle detection systems. Configuring, installation, and maintenance of communications systems including layer 2/3 network switches, cellular routers, fiber optic systems, and wireless radio systems. Troubleshooting Wide Area Network (WAN) & Local Area Network (LAN) issues across a specific region.

Key Attributes Customer service experience. Good written and verbal communications skills. Willing to travel to assignments throughout the Southeast United States.

Willing to work in an outdoor environment on major transportation routes. Able to comprehend construction designs and plans. Detail oriented and documentation skills.

Comfortable working outdoors in areas near traffic as well as working at heights greater than 10 feet. Troubleshoot traffic signal components and devices Maintenance and repair of traffic signal and ITS devices. Key Requirements Willing to travel to assignments throughout the Southeast United States.

Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems Knowledge of traffic signal systems. Technical experience with ethernet switches, wireless radio's, fiber optics, and CCTV systems. Qualifications & Experience: Required Qualifications: High school diploma level education or equivalent, 4 or more years of experience in specialist/technical area of work.

Valid drivers license Preferred Qualifications: (Preferred but can be acquired after hire) CompTIA Network + Class B or higher driver's license Experience working with aerial equipment including bucket trucks and/or manlifts Fiber Optic and/or Wireless Communications IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Why Arcadis.
