Job description

Traffic Monitoring Specialist

AECOM is seeking a Traffic Monitoring Specialist / Dispatcher / Call Center to be based in Detroit, MI. This is for an overnight (9pm-5am) with weekends and some holiday hours required.

Position Details:

  • Position is based out of client location near downtown Detroit, MI.
  • Updating, and responding to scheduled and unscheduled traffic events and congestion with devices such as closed-circuit camera TV systems/ cameras, detectors, etc.
  • Act like an emergency dispatcher within a call center environment dispatching responders via a two-way radio system to assist motorists, respond to events and other activities that require timely and efficient responses.
  • Perform data entry functions.
  • Ability to fluently work in multiple PC applications simultaneously.
  • Possess exceptional organizational skills to effectively prioritize multiple tasks in real time and in potentially serious situations.
  • Possess exceptional communications skills both in written & verbal forms to effectively receive, document & relay information from numerous sources.
  • Works under direct supervision performing moderately complex technical work utilizing instructions, examples, and results from computer systems.
  • Perform critical thinking functions and assessments and make decisions based upon circumstances.
  • 24/7/365 Environment

Minimum Requirements:

  • HS + no experience
  • Background and drug/alcohol screening required
  • Willing to work 24/7/365 operation - must be willing to work outside of standard business hours

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of experience of surveillance and or CCTV monitoring
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Customer/Client relationship experience
  • Ability to multi-task
