Job description


As a Security Officer Patrol Ambassador in Providence, RI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer in a busy retail location, where you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, communicating clearly, and supporting a caring, agile team that values reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, customers, and store personnel by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the sales floor, entrances, exits, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor customer and employee traffic at assigned locations, observe for policy violations and/or suspicious behavior, and document security-related concerns according to site protocols.
  • Support a welcoming retail location by assisting with access control, queue observation, and general presence while maintaining professionalism during busy business hours and changing site conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Supervisory experience is required.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
