Flagger / Traffic Control Team Description and Agreement

Our Flagger and Traffic Control Team is a first line of defense for safety on our hospital campus, which positions them to make a huge impact daily! This team understands that safety comes first, as they strive to remain alert, visible, and professional while directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic: Controlling

the flow of traffic at entrances, exits, parking areas, and work zones, using hand signals, paddles/signs, cones, and barricades to safely guide vehicles and pedestrians, and maintaining constant awareness of surroundings and changing site conditions; is just a small part of what this team does to keep patients,

guests, and staff safe!

Key Responsibilities: The duties and requirements listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties/responsibilities may be assigned, and as an Onsight employee you will be held to the highest professional standards.

Greet patients, visitors, staff, and delivery/vendor vehicles with clear, professional hand signals and instructions, showing compassion and empathy to everyone you interact with.

  • Safely and effectively control the flow of vehicle and pedestrian traffic at hospital entrances, exits, parking areas, and designated work zones.
  •  Utilize stop/slow paddles, signage, cones, barricades, and other traffic control devices in accordance with site requirements and applicable traffic control standards.
  • Will work in a team environment to meet all metrics that strengthen the client relationship with Onsight Healthcare.
  •  Maintain constant visual awareness of oncoming traffic, pedestrians, and changing site conditions to prevent accidents and near-misses.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with valet, security, and hospital staff to ensure smooth and safe traffic operations.
  • Meticulously maintain records and logs as needed, including incident reports and other documentation.
  • Efficiently manage traffic logistics adhering to all site requirements and abiding by all applicable traffic laws.
  •  Provide accurate directions and helpful information about the hospital facilities.
  • Immediately report any unsafe conditions, near-misses, or incidents to a supervisor.

Position Requirements

  • Over the age of 18 years old and eligible to work for any U.S. Employer is required.
  •  High school Diploma or GED required.
  •  Prior flagging/traffic control experience or certification preferred
  •  Will work with professionalism, integrity, and compassion, supporting your team, and together represent Onsight Healthcare throughout the facility.
  •  Works well independently and as part of a team.
  • Can adequately operate apps/technology on a tablet and learn new software that may be applied daily for this role.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, paying close attention to moving vehicles, surroundings, and details.
  • Safely and physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. (traffic cones, signs, and barricades). Able to stand, walk, and remain alert for hours at a time outdoors.
  • Ability to effectively build relationships with hospital staff, patients, guests, and team.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write Standard English (Bi-lingual not required but a plus!)
  •  This role will require continuous physical engagement in an outdoor environment that at times may include being exposed to harsh elements including severe cold weather, rain, sleet, snow, and other inclement weather, as well as active vehicle traffic.
  •  Physical involvement will include prolonged standing, walking, and repetitive arm/hand signaling to direct traffic with urgency, precision, and speed, all while delivering outstanding customer service.
