Job description

Position Overview The Inventory Control Clerk plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate inventory management at MSI Defense Solutions. They are responsible for monitoring and maintaining inventory levels, conducting cycle counts, and implementing procedures to maximize efficiency and minimize discrepancies. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in inventory management software.The Inventory Control Clerk will report to the Logistics Manager. This position requires a full-time work week spent in the shop in Mooresville, NC. Normal hours are Monday through Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm. Flexibility to work additional hours as required to meet project deadlines is expected.Key ResponsibilitiesReceiving incoming inventory.Pulling components for new orders from Sales Order Picking Lists accurately and on time.Delivery of parts onto the Production Floor.Utilize inventory management software to track stock movement, inventory levels, and discrepancies.Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records.Other tasks as directed by the Logistics Manager.Cross training with shipping and receiving for purposes of coverage in the event of absence or attrition.This position will report directly to the Logistics Manager.Skills and Qualifications RequiredHigh School Diploma/GED required, associate or bachelor's degree a plus.Familiarity with automotive and mechanical parts.Ability to carry out assigned tasks unassisted, or with little assistance with accuracy.Ability to effectively operate a computer and understand the Shop Floor Manager software and adhere to the discipline of the systems used per the instruction from management.Minimum of 2 years of inventory control experience in a warehouse setting.Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to effectively communicate problems and issues to the appropriate level of management to resolve issuesStrong organizational skills: attention to detail is a mustAccuracy in work assignments and a strong work ethic as a part of a team.Must be able to verify U.S. Person Status as defined by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).Physical RequirementsModerate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching, routinely lifting, and carrying parts and equipment up to 55 pounds.Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.Must be able to navigate the warehouse and reach items both high and low.Benefits401(k) with employer matchDental InsuranceDisability InsuranceHealth InsuranceVision InsurancePaid Parental and Maternity LeaveLife InsurancePaid Time Off – 120 hours per year to start (prorated in first year of employment)Continuing EducationAnnual Year End Paid Holiday ClosureEmployer Paid UniformsClassificationPosition is full-time, Non-Exempt. MSI Defense Solutions is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
