Overview
BigBear.ai is seeking a
BigBear.ai is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). You will be joining our amazing BigBear.ai team for immediate systems administrator support to legacy and existing systems. Our dream candidate will have some Oracle experience to facilitate our successor system to integrate with older legacy systems so that both systems can co-exist.
This position will be based out of Washington, D.C. and will be full-time onsite at DIA HQ. Candidates must have an active TS/SCI with Poly.
What you will do
As a Senior Systems Administrator, some of your duties will require you to independently manage multiple complex work assignments with minimal oversight and review. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems. Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable. Applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. Plans and leads major technology assignments. Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success. Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. May supervise others.
What you need to have
  • Must maintain an active TS/SCI clearance with CI poly
  • Master's degree and 8+ years of experience related to Systems Administration with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years or Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience with systems administration as a substitute to a Master's degree.
  • Must have a Security + certification
  • Principal technologies: Java, Java Persistence API (JPA), Java Web Services (JAX-RS), Java Cryptography Extension (JCE), Hibernate, Spring, JavaScript, Apache Ant, Apache HTTPD, and Apache Tomcat
  • Databases: Apache Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and OracleDB
  • Platforms: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, 8, and 9, with an understanding of FIPS mode, SELinux, firewall daemon (firewalld), file access policy daemon (fapolicyd), and basic system administration

What we'd like you to have
  • Oracle experience to assist in legacy applications
  • Proficient cloud computing experience, proficient digital security experience, SQL
  • Experience creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team
  • Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance
