VP/Senior Associate, Corporate Access

How does the role impact the organization?

The VP/Senior Associate, Corporate Access will work closely with the Institutional Sales, Trading & Research team in a fast-paced environment in our downtown Toronto office. The eligible candidate will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating access between corporate clients and institutional investors through exceptional logistics on all deal or non-deal roadshows, analyst marketing events, bespoke trips and conferences and other events. The eligible candidate will also be responsible with efficiently providing administrative & analytical support to the Equities group within the Equity Capital Markets department at Raymond James.

Drawing on previous experience in a client-facing capacity, the successful candidate must also be responsible, confident, self-motivated and a team player who has a keen interest in developing their skills and experience. The position will offer the opportunity to gain exposure to senior professionals and institutional clients. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to take initiative, and will possess exceptional time management, communication and presentation skills.

What is this role responsible for?

  • Primarily responsible for managing the Raymond James marketing calendar including deal and non-deal roadshows, virtual events, conferences, seminars, investor tours, and analyst marketing days
  • Manage itineraries, create and update marketing materials including presentations
  • Assist Conference & Special Events Coordinators with field trips, forums, symposiums and conferences
  • Work across institutional equity sales, trading, research, and client teams
  • Create account activity reports as requested
  • Maintain databases, records and files for efficient operation of the department
  • Manage logistics for in-house events including meeting room bookings, catering arrangements, AV requirements and record keeping
  • Coordinate all internal presentations, including serving as an important point of contact for Raymond James clients
  • Analyze Corporate Access activity on an ongoing basis to proactively provide feedback and suggestions to internal stakeholders and clients
  • Assist the Sales & Trading team in providing timely, confidential and professional service to all clients both internal and external
  • Other duties as assigned which may include helping route callers on the trading desk, assisting with travel arrangements, preparing expense reports, etc.

Knowledge of

  • Understanding of the capital markets, institutional clients, and corporate clients considered an asset
  • Fundamental investment concepts, practices, and procedures used in the securities industry
  • CRM tools (e.g. Ipreo/BigDough) considered an asset

Skill in

  • Professionalism with superior organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent proficiency with MS Office software, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word
  • Managing logistics with patience, strong communication skills, and special attention to detail
  • Willingness and ability to learn new applications

Ability to

  • Manage direct contact with clients: senior corporate executives & investors
  • Handle multiple time-sensitive tasks with accuracy

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements

  • Post-secondary education
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Prior experience in the financial services / equity sales and trading / investment banking / corporate finance industry considered an asset

Salary Range: $95,000 - 125,000 annually, in addition to competitive performance bonuses/incentives.

Actual compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, internal equity, and other job requirements.
