Job description

Company Description Buckeye Custom Cabinets & Closets LLC is a design-build cabinetry and millwork company based in the Columbus, Ohio metropolitan area, specializing in custom cabinetry, custom closets, and architectural woodworking for residential projects. Since 2012, the team has designed, manufactured, and installed high-quality kitchen cabinets, closet systems, built-ins, pantries, mudrooms, home offices, entertainment centers, wood countertops, and specialty millwork. As one of Central Ohioโ€™s few full-service woodworking shops, the company manages projects from initial concept and design through in-house fabrication and professional installation. Buckeye Custom Cabinets & Closets collaborates with custom home builders, remodeling contractors, interior designers, and homeowners seeking premium custom storage solutions, delivering built-to-spec cabinetry with quality materials, hardware, and reliable scheduling. The company proudly serves communities including Dublin, Grandview Heights, Powell, Upper Arlington, Worthington, and surrounding Central Ohio areas.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cabinet Maker role based in the Columbus, Ohio metropolitan area. The Cabinet Maker will be responsible for building custom cabinets, closets, and millwork components according to detailed plans and specifications using a variety of woodworking tools and machinery. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting drawings, measuring and cutting materials, assembling cabinetry, installing hardware, and preparing finished pieces for installation. The role involves collaborating with designers, project managers, and installation teams to ensure accurate fabrication, quality control, and timely completion of projects. The Cabinet Maker will also maintain a safe, organized workshop, follow established processes, and contribute to continuous improvement of production methods.

Qualifications

  • Strong cabinetry and woodworking skills, including experience building custom cabinets, closets, and built-ins.
  • Millwork and carpentry skills for detailed trim, architectural woodworking, and residential construction projects.
  • Spatial design abilities to read plans, interpret drawings, and translate concepts into precise, functional cabinetry.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery, with attention to safety and equipment care.
  • Ability to measure accurately, maintain high quality standards, and troubleshoot fit and finish issues on site and in the shop.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with builders, designers, and installation crews.
  • Preferred: experience in a custom or production cabinet shop, familiarity with European frameless and face-frame construction, and knowledge of hardware systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school, apprenticeship, or relevant technical training in woodworking or carpentry is a plus.
