Title: Saratoga Maintenance Skilled

Job Overview:

Maintenance is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems while safely operating heavy equipment used in excavation, trenching, site preparation, and material handling. This role requires knowledge of fire protection systems, construction practices, equipment operation, and workplace safety standards.

Essential Functions:

Sprinkler Fitter Responsibilities
• Install, modify, inspect, and repair fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential facilities.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and drawings.
• Cut, thread, groove, and assemble sprinkler piping and components.
• Perform testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of wet and dry sprinkler systems and testing.
• Ensure installations comply with applicable fire codes, regulations, and company standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other trades on job sites.
• Document work completed and prepare reports as required.

Heavy Equipment Operation Responsibilities
• Operate excavators, backhoes, loaders, skid steers, forklifts, boom lifts, trenchers, and other construction equipment.
• Perform trenching and excavation work for underground piping systems and utility installations.
• Transport materials, equipment, and piping components throughout the job site.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
• Assist with site preparation, grading, backfilling, and restoration efforts.
• Follow all company, union, and OSHA safety requirements related to equipment operation.

Qualifications:

• Eligibility for membership in IBEW Local 3.
• Sprinkler Fitter apprenticeship completion or journeyman certification
• Experience with underground fire service installations.
• Experience operating heavy construction equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driver's license required.

Summary of Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

This role requires the ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined spaces. Candidates must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and from ladders, lifts, trenches, and elevated work platforms.

Pay Range / Salary: $41.39 per hour
