Job Summary:
Austin Wood Recycling is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator, specifically with track loader experience, to support daily construction and material handling operations. This role is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment, maintaining efficient workflow, and supporting project operations in a fast-paced outdoor environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working extended hours and occasional travel assignments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate track loaders and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
  • Load, move, and organize materials to support construction and recycling operations
  • Perform pre-shift equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair needs promptly
  • Maintain safe working conditions and follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Coordinate with supervisors and team members to maintain workflow and productivity
  • Assist with site preparation, cleanup, and general operational support as needed
  • Travel occasionally to out-of-town job sites as required
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and work areas
  • Adapt to changing operational priorities and schedules as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment, specifically track loaders
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment
  • Strong understanding of equipment safety and operational procedures
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work extended hours and occasional Saturdays
  • Valid driver's license preferred, especially for travel to out-of-town locations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred

Work Environment / Schedule:

  • Outdoor industrial/construction environment with exposure to dust, noise, and moving equipment
  • Current schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.; Saturdays 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Schedule subject to change based on operational demands
  • Occasional travel outside of Austin area required
