Job Description
In this role, you will perform physically demanding track work, assist with maintenance activities, and support safe and efficient rail operations. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and being part of a hardworking team.
If you are reliable, safety-focused, and ready to work in a fast-paced field environment, this role may be a great fit.
Schedule:
Full-time; schedule varies based on site and operational needs
Compensation:
Starting at $22.50 per hour (based on experience)
Duties
  • Drive spikes and assist with track installation and maintenance
  • Move and set cross ties and sections of rail
  • Shovel ballast and support track alignment
  • Adjust and lubricate switches
  • Tighten track bolts and hardware
  • Check track gauge and cross level
  • Carry and use track tools and equipment (including track jack ~40 lbs)
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to perform physically demanding labor in outdoor environments
  • Ability to lift, carry, and handle heavy materials and equipment
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, and work on uneven terrain
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
  • Basic math and reading comprehension skills
  • Military experience is a plus
