MIDDLE SCHOOL: BOYS/GIRLS TRACK & FIELD - ASSISTANT COACH


Pace Academy is an independent college preparatory school in Atlanta, Ga., with an enrollment of 1,115 students in Pre-First through 12th grade. Pace is hiring an assistant head coach for the Middle School track & field team for the 2026-2027 spring season. This position reports to the Head Track & Field Coach and Director of Athletics.


WORK HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:

A part-time January to April seasonal appointment. Responsibilities include practices (1.5 hours) Monday-Friday and meets (2-3 hours) on weekdays/Saturdays. All coaches are employed on an annual basis, and continued employment is based on a season review.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The assistant coach is responsible for supporting various aspects of the track & field program. The assistant coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Pace Academy and the Metro 10, our Middle School league.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Possess and maintain a coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the mission of Pace Academy

  • A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept

  • Track & field experience and understanding of track & field

  • Effective leadership, coaching and recruiting skills

  • Good communication skills with players, parents and the Athletics Department

  • Energy, creativity, self-motivation and a team-player mentality


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Team coaching with the coaching staff daily

• Represent Pace Academy and the swimming program in a professional manner and within the bounds of good sportsmanship.

This is a temporary, seasonal position that is compensated with a coaching stipend.
