Job description

Position Summary

A Field Technician at MacAllister CAT is the onsite Service Specialist to support customers at their work location. A Field Technician would perform maintenance and repair on customer fleet at customer sites, to get them continually producing output to the customers' demands.

Responsibilities

As a Field Technician your responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Diagnose problems with equipment/engines.
  • Perform all repairs associated with the diagnosis that is possible out in the field.
  • Locate and order parts as required. On occasions, this may require you to coordinate with parts-drivers to get the parts you need to your work site.
  • Write up detailed service reports for both internal and external requirements.
  • Maintain own equipment.
  • Building productive customer relationships to benefit all involved.

Qualifications

To qualify, you should have:

  • Proven track record of ability to perform and fix equipment/engines in a timely manner, to the quality and standard required.
  • The ability to self-motivate and self-manage time.
  • A record of promptness to get to and from work on time.
  • Strong ability to communicate and listen, understanding customer needs and performing the work necessary.
  • Strong writing skills to complete detailed service reports.
  • A Current DOT Medical Card.
  • A Current Class A CDL.
