What You’ll Do

  • Support the construction and installation of underground fiber networks serving residential and commercial customers
  • Assist with jobsite setup, preparation, and cleanup working as part of a collaborative team
  • Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment
  • Perform physical tasks such as digging, lifting, trenching, and material handling
  • Operate hand and power tools safely under supervision
  • Assist with hydro-vac operations for potholing and site cleanup
  • Safely operate pickup trucks or larger vehicles, including towing trailers
  • Help maintain equipment and ensure tools are job-ready
  • Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe, team-focused work environment
  • Work closely with crew members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Strong ability to perform physical labor in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)
  • Basic understanding of construction safety practices
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks
  • A valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and the ability to maintain insurability under the company's auto policy are essential.
  • CDL-A preferred but not required
  • Comfortable traveling and working on different job sites
  • Ability to travel out of state as needed (approximately 50%)
  • Ability to be on call when required

Education and Experience

  • 3 years of experience in an outdoor construction role preferred
  • Experience operating or assisting with heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, directional drills) strongly preferred
  • Previous experience working in outdoor environment year round
