UNC Health Johnston is seeking an experienced Urologist to join their team in Clayton, NC. The board-certified surgeons group offers advanced training and the latest techniques in various specialty areas while focusing on giving patients undivided attention. Aquablation is an available procedure at this location.

UNC Health Johnston
UNC Health Johnston was founded in 1951 as Johnston Memorial Hospital and has deep roots in the community. With campuses in Smithfield and Clayton, the hospital is licensed for 179 medical/surgical beds and 20 behavioral health beds.
Between 2009 and 2010, Johnston completed its largest-ever expansion, a five-story replacement bed tower in Smithfield and a freestanding emergency department in Clayton. During the same period, the Johnston Health Foundation led a successful capital campaign to build an inpatient hospice unit, the SECU Hospice House, near the Smithfield hospital.
In 2015, Johnston expanded the freestanding ED in Clayton into a full-service 50-bed hospital.
Today, the top three floors of the original hospital building, now called Bright Leaf Tower, are used for offices. Renovated rooms on the second floor are for medical patients, inpatient dialysis, cardiac recovery, infusions and observation.
The Medical Arts Pavilion attached to the hospital is home to several specialty physicians. Across the street, Johnston Medical Mall offers easy access to patient financial services, primary-care practice, and outpatient services such as oncology, wound care and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. The mall is anchored by HealthQuest Wellness & Fitness Center. In 2014, Johnston aligned with UNC Health Care to enhance and add services and new technology to better serve our patients. In 2021, Johnston entered a joint operating agreement with UNC Rex to capitalize on long-term growth opportunities, including the expansion of the Clayton hospital.
Johnston has a medical staff of nearly 400 providers and a workforce of more than 2,000 teammates. Our nurses, physicians, therapists and support staff work collaboratively and share a passion for health care. We take pride in our work and our community.
