Position Overview
Crown Innovations is seeking Certified Tower Climber Technicians to support the installation, inspection, repair, and remediation of communication towers and related infrastructure.
This role is responsible for climbing communication towers and performing hands-on fieldwork to support mission-critical communications systems. The selected candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work at height in varying weather conditions.
This is a 100% travel position, requiring deployment to job sites nationwide, often on short notice.
Key Responsibilities
Tower Climbing & Installation
Climb communication towers and related structures to perform installation, inspection, repair, and remediation activities
Perform hands-on work at height in compliance with safety standards and project requirements
Inspection & Documentation
Document tower conditions through photos, videos, and written reports
Complete inspection checklists and technical documentation accurately
Verify compliance with ANSI/TIA, OSHA, and other regulatory standards
Field Operations & Support
Perform site preparation and cleanup
Support material handling and movement of equipment
Assist with structure assembly and installation activities
Operate equipment as required and authorized
Perform manual labor in support of tower and site work
Team Collaboration
Work collaboratively with field and office personnel
Support team operations to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met
Safety & Compliance
Follow all company and industry safety protocols
Utilize proper PPE, rigging practices, and fall protection systems
Maintain compliance with all applicable safety regulations and standards
Minimum Required Qualifications
Certified Tower Climber (ComTrain, SPRAT, or equivalent)
Minimum 1-2 years of tower climbing experience
Familiarity with tower types including monopole, guyed, and self-supporting structures
Knowledge of rigging practices, PPE, and fall protection systems
Ability to read and interpret tower drawings, inspection checklists, and technical reports
Strong documentation and communication skills
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required
Ability to pass a drug screening and background check
Travel & Work Requirements
This is a 100% travel position across the United States
Travel may be required on short notice based on project needs
Employees are required to cover travel-related expenses in advance, which are reimbursed by Crown every 10 days in accordance with company policy
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to work at heights for extended periods
Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments
Ability to work in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain
Ability to perform manual labor and handle materials and equipment safely
Preferred Qualifications
First Aid / CPR and rescue training
Certified Competent Climber / Rescuer
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Schedule & Work Environment
Typical field schedule consists of extended 10-hour workdays
Work may require non-standard hours based on project requirements
This is a 100% travel position
Compensation
Hourly Rate Range: $35 to $40 per hour (W2)
Compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity considerations.
Crown complies with all applicable state and local pay transparency laws. The listed compensation range represents the good faith salary range for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, geographic considerations, and business needs.
