Job description

The Wagon Driver is responsible for the safe operation of wagon rides at Temple Hall Farm.

Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour

Major Duties/Specific Tasks

  • Drive tractor with wagon attached for hay rides.
  • Visitor services:  greet visitors; provide information.
  • Assist with implementing special events.
  • Assist with group tours:  greet tour visitors; provide information and collect fees; coordinate tour activities especially hay rides.
  • Provide security for wagon rides:  enforce rules of Farm and Maize; supervise safety of visitors, facilities, farm animals and grounds; perform emergency procedures as necessary.

 Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum age 18 years old to drive tractor.
  • Considerable ability to operate tractor with wagon attached in safe manner.
  • Considerable ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the public, staff members and volunteers.
  • Ability to interpret and explain Park Authority policies, rules and procedures to the public.
  • Assist with routine maintenance/repair of equipment to include changing oil and oil filters.
  • Interest in farm operation.
  • Availability to work additional hours during peak operating times.
  • Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license.
