Job description

Maintains and monitors a safe exercise setting, while providing individual attention to the total wellness of members and clients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assists members on the proper use of exercise equipment.

  • Gives sound health and fitness training and advice to members/clients.

  • Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.

  • Offers and provides spotting to members.

  • Provides general maintenance and organization to the exercise area and equipment.

  • Provides a safe, clean area for members to exercise.

  • Maintains current CPR and First Aid certifications.

  • Stays current with the latest safety information and research in the fitness industry.

  • Notified supervisor of any damaged equipment or shortages.

  • Wears appropriate exercise attire and footwear.

  • Arrives five minutes prior to the appointment start.

  • Motivates and encourages participants with positive feedback.

  • Executes Branch emergency plan as necessary.

  • Other duties as assigned.


WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time

  • Ability to conduct guest tours

  • Ability to read, interpret and communicate information

  • Ability to type proficiently and work in front of a computer screen

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Ability to solve practical problems

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPR and First Aid certified.

  • Candidates must possess and maintain a valid Personal Training Certification from a nationally recognized organization.
