We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Wellness and Disability Programs Analyst (Human Resources Professional II). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under general supervision, the Wellness and Disability Programs Analyst independently performs a broad range of professional, analytical, and technical duties in support of Total Wellness programs, disability management, leave administration, employee benefits, and departmental operations. Administers and supports human resources-related programs and processes; interprets and applies applicable laws, regulations, policies, collective bargaining agreements, and procedures; analyzes and maintains program data and records; develops operational documentation, training materials, and workflow resources; and provides consultation and support to employees, management, campus departments, and external partners.
The Wellness and Disability Programs Analyst serves as a key resource for employees, managers, healthcare providers, third-party administrators, and campus stakeholders by coordinating services, facilitating program administration, maintaining confidential records, and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, CSU policies, and campus procedures. The position is responsible for administering and supporting benefits operations, disability and leave management programs, wellness initiatives, records management activities, and departmental projects; monitoring and maintaining program data and reporting; and contributing to process improvement and organizational effectiveness efforts.
The Wellness and Disability Programs Analyst exercises independent judgment in resolving operational issues, administering assigned programs, interpreting policies and procedures, and identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery, compliance, and operational efficiency. Through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, the position contributes to the effective delivery of programs and services that promote employee wellness, benefits administration, disability management, and a positive employee experience across the university. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience. Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Under general supervision, administers and implements human resource programs and initiatives while ensuring accuracy and alignment with objectives. Responsibilities cover most technical aspects of human resources and related projects. Applies professional level knowledge of human resources. Collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with human resources policy, regulations, and relevant bargaining contracts, and help stakeholders handle requests. Handles multiple work priorities and is accountable for own work results.
Working skills and knowledge of human resource discipline principles, practices, and related regulations. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing human resource standards, policies, and procedures. Strong project planning and organizational skills to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects. Strong analytical skills in order to evaluate and interpret data to develop sound conclusions and recommendations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively present information and ideas and advise managers, staff, and faculty regarding human resources policies and procedures.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with office administration, records management, and program coordination practices. Experience in employee wellness, disability management, ADA accommodations, leave administration, and workers' compensation processes. Electronic document management and records retention principles experience. Budget tracking, purchasing, and administrative support functions. Applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies related to disability and leave programs. Maintain confidential and sensitive information with discretion. Coordinate multiple projects, assignments, and deadlines simultaneously. Prepare reports, maintain records, and analyze program data. Develop procedures, training materials, and process documentation. Communicate effectively with employees, management, healthcare providers, vendors, and external partners. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with various stakeholders. Use Microsoft Office applications and electronic records management systems effectively.
