Job description

Position Summary

We are currently looking for an Inside Auto Appraiser to prepare estimates and supplements for first- and third-party auto damage claims. The position will also be involved with total loss claims, including preparing an appropriate total loss evaluation and obtaining the correct total loss forms from insureds and claimants. This is a hybrid position based out of our Blue Bell PA office and will not involve in-person inspections.

Essential Job Requirements

  • Communicate with insureds and claimants to obtain photos/videos of the damage to the auto.
  • Prepare vehicle estimates and supplements in accordance with company guidelines.
  • When the vehicle is a total loss prepare the valuation report applying appropriate depreciation, deductibles, taxes, and fees.
  • Communicate and negotiate with other parties including insureds, claimants, appraisers and autobody shops using various forms of communication, including phone, email, and text messaging. Respond to all communication in a timely and professional manner.
  • Audit estimates written by independent appraisers.
  • Apply applicable policy coverages, deductibles and limits to settlements and enter payments on claims where coverage/liability is resolved.
  • Review claims for potential fraud red flags.
  • Provide excellent customer service to policyholders and claimants.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education

  • Must possess PA Auto Appraiser license in good standing, with the ability to get other states licenses.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain adjuster licenses as required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • 5+ years insurance appraisal experience with an insurance carrier preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • College degree or I-CAR Professional designation preferred.
