Summary

Responsible for the proper accounting functions and procedures related to Tosoh SMD, Inc., including but not limited to audit support, bank reconciliation, general ledger, advanced account analysis, financial analysis, process improvement and development.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform the month‑end closing, analyze account balances and activities, and reconcile balances to the general ledger.
  • Assist other Tosoh subsidiaries with their questions and requests.
  • Assist company management in audits and may coordinate related documentation for external auditors.
  • Manage fixed assets by tracking projects and reporting status while in progress. Record depreciation journal entries and reconcile the reports to the general ledger.
  • Assist with reporting requirements to Tosoh Corp.
  • Adhere to a strong internal control environment and provide recommendations for improvements to internal controls or processes.
  • Document financial transactions by entering journal vouchers, both recurring and non‑recurring.
  • Assist in cash forecasting.
  • Perform other work duties as directed by management.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3+ years of general ledger accounting experience.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Excellent working knowledge of accounting processes and the ability to quickly understand how those processes are processed within the Tosoh business structure.
  • Ability and willingness to deliver highly accurate work product in a timely, organized, and effective manner.
  • Ability and willingness to develop positive, professional, and effective work relationships and to collaborate effectively with individuals inside and outside the department and the company.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge is a plus, or willingness to advance current Excel knowledge.
