What are the main responsibilities of a Teacher on Special Assignment and how do they support other educators within a school?

A TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment) typically works outside of a regular classroom to support school initiatives, mentor colleagues, and lead professional development. Their daily tasks might include designing curriculum resources, coaching teachers in instructional strategies, and coordinating specialized programs or interventions. TOSAs often collaborate closely with administrators and teaching staff to implement school-wide goals, making them key contributors to continuous instructional improvement. Because they serve as a bridge between classroom teachers and leadership, strong communication and organizational skills are essential for this dynamic, supportive role.

What are Tosa dogs?

Tosa dogs, also known as Tosa Inu or Japanese Mastiffs, are a breed of large, powerful dogs originally bred in Japan for dog fighting. They are known for their strength, courage, and loyalty, making them effective guard dogs and companions for experienced owners. The breed is highly regulated or banned in some countries due to its fighting history and size. Tosas require consistent training, socialization, and responsible ownership to ensure they are well-behaved. They are best suited for people familiar with large and strong breeds.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Teacher on Special Assignment, and why are they important?
