Description
North Ridge Country Club, a premier private club in Raleigh, North Carolina, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Golf Course Irrigation Technician to oversee and maintain our state-of-the-art Toro Lynx irrigation system, installed in 2019, for our 36-hole championship golf courses and clubhouse landscaping. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal turf and landscape conditions through efficient water management, system maintenance, parts ordering, and organization of irrigation facilities, contributing to the exceptional quality of our prestigious facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee, maintain, and repair the Toro Lynx irrigation system for 36 holes of golf courses and the clubhouse landscape, including sprinklers, valves, pipes, and controllers.
  • Monitor and adjust irrigation schedules using the Toro Lynx system to meet turf and landscaping needs while prioritizing water conservation.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, including leaks, electrical faults, and pump malfunctions across two pump stations.
  • Order parts and supplies for irrigation system maintenance and repairs, ensuring timely availability and cost efficiency.
  • Organize and maintain the irrigation room and two pump stations for operational efficiency and safety.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure system efficiency and compliance with local water regulations.
  • Collaborate with the groundskeeping team to support turf health, course aesthetics, and clubhouse landscaping.
  • Maintain accurate records of irrigation schedules, repairs, water usage, and inventory.
  • Manage seasonal system startups, winterizations, and upgrades for golf courses and clubhouse systems.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in irrigation systems preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in irrigation system installation, maintenance, or repair, preferably with Toro Lynx or similar advanced systems.
  • Familiarity with Toro Lynx irrigation software and hardware, installed in 2019 or later.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and inventory management skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of water conservation practices and local water regulations.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Flexible availability, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Skills:
  • Advanced experience with Toro Lynx or other computerized irrigation control systems.
  • Basic knowledge of turf management or agronomy.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
  • Experience operating large/heavy equipment (e.g., skid steer, backhoe, etc.)
  • Certification from the Irrigation Association (e.g., Certified Irrigation Technician) is a plus.
