You’ll often work closely with engineers, architects, and construction teams to ensure your measurements align with project requirements. Office time usually involves processing data, generating reports, and maintaining thorough records. Survey CAD Technician (Civil 3D)

Kissimmee, FL

Job description

Johnston’s Surveying is looking for a Survey CAD Technician for our Kissimmee office. This is a drafting seat, not entry-level — we need someone who’s already worked survey data in Civil 3D and knows the difference between a boundary drawing and a topo.

What you’ll be doing:

• Processing field data into base maps, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and ALTA/NSPS surveys

• Building and editing drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D (Carlson experience a plus)

• Working directly with field crews and project surveyors to resolve data issues before they become drawing problems

• Managing multiple projects at different stages at once — this isn’t a one-drawing-at-a-time job

What you need:

• 2+ years CAD experience specific to land surveying (not just general drafting)

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D — Carlson Survey is a plus, not a requirement

• Comfortable reading and applying legal descriptions, plats, and deed research

• Central Florida survey experience preferred — you know the counties, you know the quirks

What we offer:

• Full-time, in-office, Kissimmee HQ

• Established firm, steady project pipeline, no bench time between jobs

Johnston’s Surveying has been doing land surveying in Central Florida for decades. We’re growing and this seat is open because the work is there, not because someone just quit.
