Duties
Help

• Conducts advanced interrogation-level interviews on highly sensitive Special Access Programs (SAP) or Human Intelligence (HUMINT)-related cases.
• Extracts admissions or critical information from deceptive or resistant subjects in complex investigations.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of current scientifically validated techniques and recommends methodological improvements.
• Makes precedent-setting decisions with direct impact on Army readiness and national security operations.
• Analyzes case implications across multiple Special Access Programs (SAP)/Human Intelligence (HUMINT) operations to assess broader security risk.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET level security clearance based on a Special Background Investigation (SBI) and be eligible for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.(SCI)
• Must be able to obtain and maintain INSCOM certification as a Polygraph Examiner.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
• Must have U.S. Army Counterintelligence Badge and Credentials, or must be able to successfully complete the U.S. Army Counterintelligence Special Agent Course located at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.
• Must be able to endure extended periods of bending, standing, and sitting.
• TDY may constitute up to 50% of time.
• All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
• 10. Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a CI Scope Polygraph Examination and pass random examinations thereafter in accordance with Army Regulation 380-67, Personnel Security Program.

SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: This position requires possession of either a Defense Academy for Credibility Assessment (DACA), Department of Defense Polygraph Institute (DoDPI) or a National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA) certificate. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized experience is defined as experience 1) conducting complex counterintelligence polygraph examinations on military and civilian personnel assigned to National Security Agency (NSA) and Special Access Programs (SAP) programs; 2) coordinating pre-examination briefings and testing logistics with Special Access Programs (SAP) contractors nationwide, ensuring compliance with security protocols and scheduling requirements for sensitive program personnel; 3) preparing comprehensive, technically sound investigative reports evaluating polygraph techniques, methods, and results for use in security suitability and counterintelligence determinations; AND 4) conducting specific-issue and operational suitability polygraph examinations supporting active Human Intelligence (HUMINT) and counterintelligence operations.
Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.

• COE CONT: Must be a graduate of the Psychophysiological Detection of Deception (PDD) Course, the National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA), Fort Jackson, South Carolina, or successfully complete the PDD course at NCCA and all annual continuing education requirements as mandated by Army Intelligence Polygraph Program, INSCOM, and NCCA.
• This position requires a 2 year trial period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
