Stamping Technician
Rochester Hills, MI
$21-$22/hr
2nd Shift | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

We are seeking a Stamping Technician to join our team in Rochester Hills. If you have a background in stamping operations, tool repair, and mechanical troubleshooting, this is a great opportunity to grow your career in a fast-paced, automotive production environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review orders and collaborate with supervisors on tool construction timelines and technical requirements
  • Repair and modify tools using technical data, drawings, and specifications
  • Perform dimensional and functional testing of constructed tools
  • Confirm tool readiness before releasing to production
  • Analyze tool downtime and recommend process optimizations (including laser welding)
  • Perform routine maintenance and suggest improvements
  • Train team members on stamping processes and tool handling
  • Assist in managing spare parts for stamping tools
  • Repair or build alternative modules for various part types
  • Support the integration of new stamping machines
  • Operate presses and perform reel and coil changes as needed
  • Follow all housekeeping and safety standards
  • Work overtime, including weekends, as required
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completed a 3-year Toolmaker Apprenticeship or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of hands-on toolmaker experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience in the automotive sector (OEM or Tier 1/2 suppliers)
