Responsibilities
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Tooling Engineer located in Manchester, CT.
Reporting to the Operations Engineering Manager, the Tooling Engineer role involves executing complex injection molding tooling projects for Medical and Consumer Products and collaborate with suppliers, customers, and team members. Your projects and customers extend beyond your office, and it's your responsibility to contribute to projects from initial conception to completion.
What a typical day looks like:
  • Manage both small and large injection mold tooling builds, repairs, or spares
  • Coordinate with other team members as needed during mold design, mold build, mold qualification, sampling, and final part approval
  • Ability to quote full scale injection mold tooling projects, as well as repairs, refurbishments, or components
  • Involvement in troubleshooting issues with production molds
  • Involvement in DFM/FMEA activities both internally and with customers
  • Provide status reports to management and customers as needed.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:
  • B.A. or B.S. in Engineering or related field or relevant work experience.
  • Must have at least 3-5 years of experience in plastic injection mold manufacturing.
  • Should have relevant experience in a regulated industry (medical, automotive, electronics) - medical preferred.
  • Experience in qualification of complex, high cavitation, tight tolerance injection molds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Injection Mold Design and Injection Mold Processing techniques.
