The HSE Methods organization, located in East Hartford, CT, is looking for an Airfoil Tool Developer to join our Methods team. This role will be responsible for working as a practitioner on the development, deployment, and support of next generation turbine airfoils tools in HSE and enable Pratt & Whitney to continually push the state of the art.
What You Will Do:
  • Identify technical needs within engineering organization and translate those needs into clear software requirements which will drive the design, development, and testing of high-quality applications for the engineering organization.
  • Working as part of a methods or IPT team to develop and support Airfoil Design System tool and process development.
  • Interface and collaborate with product stakeholders/customers to align on requirements, manage applications, and communicate progress.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation and user guides for applications.
  • Drive improvements in Methods processes and best practices using the principles of CORE

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 8 years of engineering experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and 5 years of related engineering experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • MS in Engineering or Software related field.
  • Experience with Python, Java, JavaScript, or other major software languages
  • Design/analysis experience with turbine airfoils, cooling holes, and/or internal cooling circuits.
  • Experience using NX, Simcenter, and Teamcenter toolsets.
  • Experience with Java and NXOpen.
  • Experience with Build Tools Gradle, Maven, or Ant.
  • Experience with StarCCM+
  • NX Tool development, ownership, and version upgrade experience.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Experience with GitHub, Jira, and other code and product management software
  • Ability to think outside-the-box and develop creative solutions to technical challenges.

Hot Section Engineering (HSE)
Hot Section Engineering is responsible for the design, development, technology maturation and in service support of all diffuser cases, combustors, turbines (vanes, blades, rotors and cases), augmenters (military), nozzles and associated fuel systems for all military, commercial and industrial engine models and radial auxiliary power units.
Technical disciplines in HSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Durability and Product Definition.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
