Variety every day - from cabling and networking to hardware repair, no two service calls look the same.

Meaningful work - your skills directly support the safe, secure operation of correctional facilities across the state.

Room to grow - build deep expertise across low-voltage systems, networking, and specialized commissary/kiosk technology.

A company vehicle, tools, and the equipment you need to do the job right.

What You'll Do

Install, configure, maintain, and repair inmate commissary and kiosk systems.

Diagnose and repair computer hardware, peripherals, printers, scanners, payment devices, and network-connected equipment.

Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling, including Cat5/Cat6 Ethernet cable.

Configure and troubleshoot network devices, including switches, routers, wireless access points, and other connected hardware.

Perform preventive maintenance and respond to emergency service calls to minimize equipment downtime.

Use Windows-based computers and software to configure equipment, document repairs, and maintain service records.

Read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical documentation, and equipment manuals.

Test, identify, and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.

Travel throughout North Carolina to provide on-site technical support at correctional facilities.

Maintain an organized inventory of parts, tools, and service equipment in your company vehicle.

Build strong working relationships with jail administrators, correctional staff, and facility personnel while following all institutional security requirements.

What You Bring

Solid experience with low-voltage wiring, including terminating, testing, and troubleshooting Ethernet cabling.

Comfort with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.

A working knowledge of computer hardware diagnostics and repair.

Familiarity with networking fundamentals - switches, routers, wireless networks, and IP-based devices.

Confidence using hand tools, power tools, cable testers, and other diagnostic equipment.

A sharp eye for troubleshooting and a genuine drive to solve problems.

Strong self-direction and organizational skills - you're comfortable running your own day in the field.

A valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively across North Carolina.

What to Expect

You'll work on-site inside county and state correctional facilities, following strict security and safety procedures.

Expect frequent driving and independent fieldwork across North Carolina.

You'll adapt to shifting priorities daily while maintaining professionalism in secure environments.
