Job description

DRT is hiring a Tooling Coordinator to support our CNC machining operations in Dayton/Kettering, Ohio. In this role, you'll manage tooling inventory, prepare tooling for production, and ensure machinists have the tools they need to meet quality and delivery requirements.

This is a hands-on position for someone with direct tool crib experience, strong organizational skills, and a working knowledge of tooling used in CNC machining and precision manufacturing environments.

What You'll Do
  • Issue tools, equipment, and supplies to machinists and production employees
  • Prepare tooling kits for CNC machining centers and VMCs
  • Maintain accurate tooling inventory and usage records
  • Receive, inspect, label, and stock incoming tooling and supplies
  • Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits
  • Inspect tooling for wear or damage and coordinate repairs or replacement
  • Order replacement tooling, inserts, and consumables
  • Support production by staging tooling and responding to shop-floor needs
  • Track, organize, and maintain company tooling assets
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient tool crib
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing, machine shop, tool room, or inventory control environment
  • Direct tool crib experience issuing, tracking, organizing, and maintaining manufacturing tooling
  • Direct tooling knowledge, including cutting tools, inserts, holders, gauges, and machining consumables
  • Basic computer skills and ability to maintain inventory records
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and inventory documentation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Reliable attendance and commitment to safety
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting CNC machining, aerospace manufacturing, or precision manufacturing operations
  • Experience preparing tooling kits for CNC mills, machining centers, or VMCs
  • Experience using ERP/MRP inventory management systems
  • Previous machinist, tool room, or production support experience
  • Forklift or material handling experience
