Technician, Tool Room (Part-Time)
Job Description:

Essential Functions:

  • Issues appropriate tool room supplies/tools to students, assuring that tools/supplies are returned in the same condition as issued.

  • Assists with parts management, which includes issuing and recording of all parts and supplies to students and instructors.

  • Maintains all parts and supplies needed by instructors and students.

  • Makes recommendations regarding purchase of replacement equipment.

  • Assists with maintenance of cleaning supplies for the Transportation Technologies Building and performs custodial work within the Transportation Technologies Building, as needed

  • Oversees the Transportation Technologies Building key rack, which includes customer vehicle keys, donated vehicle keys, building/classroom keys, etc

  • Assists with shipping and receiving for the Transportation Technologies Building.

  • Works in conjunction with the Laboratory Technicians to maintain the equipment needed for lab instruction and classroom instruction.

  • Assists in maintenance duties when requested. Such duties may include, but are not limited to, light plumbing, electrical, construction, snow removal, and groundskeeping.

  • Prepares maintenance work orders as needed.

  • Answers telephones for the Transportation Technologies Office, when necessary.

  • Responsible for maintaining records of customer vehicles used for training automotive technology students.

  • Maintains records of customer history and generates completed repair order for customer upon completion of repairs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Transportation Technologies Tooling

  • Must have good verbal, written and phone skills Must be able to manage several projects at once

  • Must possess excellent customer service skills with patience and attention to detail being foremost

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)

  • Knowledge of mechanical tools
